The story / editorial draft
Pugur’s story begins in rural Penestanan, with a life shaped by work, family and the village landscape. The editorial account follows a meeting with Arie Smit and the point at which painting offered a different direction.
The change was not an instant escape from ordinary life. It was a bifurcation: the same fields, water, animals and ceremonies could now become a language—and that language could carry a life forward.
“Nothing around him changed at once. Everything ahead of him did.”
02 / Behind the film
Life around the frame.
The backstage layer keeps the camera, family, studio and village visible. Short observations replace a polished making-of narrative.
